Hill”.
Day 5
Drive back to Reykjavik – 1 dive in Silfra on the way
SILFRA is an absolute world class dive site due to two main
reasons. First of all you will be diving in a crack between the
American and Eurasian continents. It’s the place where the
continental plates meet and drift apart about 2cm per year.
Secondly the visibility that you will experience will rarely be
surpassed, if ever. 100m+! The reasons for this clarity are twofold:
the water is cold ( 2°C - 4°C all year ) since it’s the melting water
from a glacier about 50km away and has traveled through the
lava 7 elds for many years before coming out at the north end of
Thingvellir lake through underground wells
Day 6
Golden Circle Dive Tour:
On this trip we will pick you up from your hotel and
drive the scenic route to National Park ThingvellirThe
o9 cial website of Thingvellir National Park, passing
the geothermal powerplant Nesjavellir which
supplies Reykjavik with a large part of its hot water.
At Thingvellir lake we will take one dive through Silfra
cathedral and Silfra Lagoon
After the dive, we will have a hot cup of co! ee and
then head to the geothermal hot spring area - Geysir.
Your guide will show you around and tell you some
interesting facts and stories about the spouting
geysers “Strokkur” and “Geysir” as well as the area.
Day 7
Morning free. Return to airport and depart for home.
